Nail Art: Khaki & Gold Autumn Nails

Khaki & Gold 2
Khaki & Gold3

When does autumn ends, and when does winter start…? That was what I was wondering when I picked this khaki polish for this week. Most of my autumn coats are khaki, so whenever I spot this colour I instantly feel that I’m in the middle of autumn – is this just me, I’m also wondering…

What I used:

  • TopShop: Utilitalian
  • miss sporty: 312

How to get the look:

1) Apply one coat of base coat.

2) Apply two coats of Utilitalian.

3) Using masking tapes, make triangle shapes on your thumb and index fingers, then apply miss sporty. Place glitters on your middle and little fingers, and gold metal balls on your ring finger.

4) Apply one coat of top coat.

When I made the triangle and studs-esque design with metal balls, I was aiming for a military look (I thought military and khaki go well together). But Mr T insists that they look more like punk rock went contemporary. Mmmm… what do you think? I’m happy with the result either way, though :)

  1. I can’t live without it, so hope Seche Vite works for you, too :)

  2. Great…!! Seche Vite..I don’t think I’ve ever used/heard of that one ^^; will look into it. Thank you!!

  3. Thank you very much for your compliment, Sayu san *blush*!

As for the top coat, I use non-brand one (yes, cheap ones are fine) for sticking the metal balls, then use 2 coats of Seche Vite (you can’t really use Seche Vite for sticking the balls because it dries way too fast!). Hope this helps :)

  4. Hello Emi-san, I stumbled upon your blog (by the way I’m also Japanese, but will comment in English ^^) and been into it ever since! You are super creative and love your sense of style in every detail you put your thoughts into :)

I have a question about the nail jewels…What do you use for the top coat?? I have problems keeping the metal balls and jewels in place…They chip off after a few hours without me knowing, even if I am trying to be careful with the use of my hands!
