Nail Art: Triangles & Squares

Happy Monday, sweets! Hope you had a lovely weekend. Mr T and I visited Leeds Castle on Sunday, which I tweeted about (I know, I finally started to use Twitter properly!); I’m going to share you some photos of the lovely castle tomorrow :) But before that, let me show you this week’s nail art.
I used:
- OPI / Don’t Touch My Tutu!
How to get the look:
1) Apply base coat.
2) Apply five coats of Don’t Touch My Tutu! to make gradient art (see tutorial here for gradient art how-to).
3) While the nails are still wet, place triangle and square decals (for how to make DIY decals, see tutorial here).
4) Apply a top coat.

Yap, I’m using my new ‘it’ polish, Don’t Touch My Tutu! from NYC Ballet Collection, and I’m so in love with it!

I think it’s by far the best ‘gel look’ polish I’ve ever encountered :) You could see NYC Ballet mini collection’s swatch here.
Going back to the subject of Twitter – well, where do I start? I’ve been shying away from using it other than announcing new blog post. Because… basically, I felt lost. Really lost, to the point that I couldn’t see that blue birdie eye to eye.
So, I already knew the basics for using Twitter – what I didn’t know was what I was supposed to tweet about. Would anyone really be interested in what I say? Would I just embarrass myself? I talked about these concerns with my mate the other day, and her answer was ‘stop thinking too much, and just get on with it’. Pretty much.
So, although it still feels like I’m walking around town in my knickers when pressing that ‘tweet’ button, I’m going to give it a go. And, I want to know these things from you; how long did it take for you to get the knack of it, and how often do you tweet? How many times a day do you check Twitter account? Do you feel ‘yeeees, I must tweet right now’ moment, or do you tweet anytime anyway? Do you dance when someone RT? Is there anyone who refuses to use Twitter? OK, I’m feeling so old! Please excuse me, I must go now and walk around town in my knickers…

Yay! I’ve tried the tape decal too, but I prefer this method better, because the polish ‘blends’ with the base. Thanks for stopping by, Glitter :D
August 2nd, 2012 | emiDude this is an epic tutorial and as I am a nail polish addict I am totally doing this! I also usually tape the hell out of my nails. This will be a nice change. Woot woot!

July 17th, 2012 | MašaThanks, Masa – and I really wanna see your cute RT dance :D I think I have to get used to logging in to Twitter account from the first place, too! But I’m getting better; I just tweeted this morning, ain’t I a good girl?!
July 17th, 2012 | emiperfect mani, one of my favorites!
July 17th, 2012 | MašaTwitter… well, I must admit I more or less use it because it’s kinda mandatory if you’re a blogger. I try not to post my blog posts only, so I share when I like something. I’m not really good with sharing my thoughts – I just never remember to login and write something (so it’s true I rarely read other tweets). I agree with your mate btw. ;)
oh, and I still do a happy dance when someone RTs or mentions me, because it happens like once a month. :D
Thanks for answering my questions, Areya! As you say, the only way to find out is to give it a go… I’m hoping that I’m gonna get used to tweeting soon, and feel comfortable with it!
July 16th, 2012 | emiVery nice nails :D Love the colored shapes.
As for Twitter, I’m an avid Tweeter, but I’m not the type to make a tweet every hour or something. I started using it mainly on mobile internet, and ranted on the go, for eg. if a train is delayed *again* and I just need to complain about it. It gradually became more of a microblogging thing for me – tweeting a line or two about literally anything from song lyrics to quotes to what I’m feeling at that moment. I also look at the trends if they sound interesting and sometimes funny stuff is written that gives me a laugh. I must admit Twitter isn’t for everyone. The only way to find out is to give it a go without too much thought!
