Nail Art: Drawing with Acrylic Paints
Happy December, lovelies! I turned 35 today (yay!) and as any birthday girl would rightfully do so, I demanded many things to my (poor) better half. Having a cake for breakfast and lunch was one, and another was forcing him to doodle on my nails :)
I’ve been begging him to do some drawings on my nails for some time, and he finally caved in today.
Mr T drew a couple of sketches of our cat and me first on a piece of paper (the one with pointy head is apparently me…). No, of course I refused the macho-version of the cat drawn on my nails…
I’ve never used acrylic paints on my nails before, but apparently it’s so much easier to draw than using nail polish. You can draw detailed stuff very neatly, and the best part is that you can erase any mistake with wet cotton buds – I mean, really, you can make mistakes as many times as you want, all without messing around with your base polish!
OK, here is a very quick how-to:
1) Apply base coat and polish as you’d always do your mani.
2) When the polish is completely dry, start drawing with acrylic paint. You may need to thin the paint with water to get the right consistency.
3) Once the acrylic paint is completely dry, apply top coat.
Hope you’ll have fun with acrylic paints – yap, my brain is spinning with things that I want to (or want Mr T to) draw on my nails! You can see more photos of Mr T painting my nails on my Instagram, too :) Have a lovely weekend!
