Necklace Upcycle: Mixing Old & New

Necklace Upcycle: Mixing Old & New 1

Do you have any jewellery that you love, but cannot wear anymore because some parts are broken, or look too old? Well, I have some, and today I decided to rescue one of them.

Ahhh… There is it, my once-favourite-of-all but now neglected necklace. I got it from either Urban Outfitters or TopShop about 6 years ago, and look how black the chains are at the end. Shame! The gold flower motifs are made from leather, and I decided to replace them with cream-coloured, needle felted stars.

I also replaced the blackened chains with silver plated chains from Beadalon.

Acrylic crystals (no, they are not Swarovski crystals. I wish!) and felt are two very different materials, but they work well together, I think. And do I like the new version? Hell, yes!
