Craft Tutorial: Vintage Chandelier Earrings

I’m a big fan of vintage bric-a-bracs, especially I have a thing about vintage glasses – glass buttons, glass bottles, glass anything! So when I found these lovely chandelier parts the other day, I couldn’t resist bringing them home with me. Read More

Craft Tutorial: Cross-Stitched Letter Sorter

Craft Tutorial: Cross-Stitched Letter Sorter

Hello lovelies! I have a fun and colourful tutorial today for you – as you can guess from the title, it’s about a cross-stitched letter sorter. Cross-stitching a letter sorter? Yap, you heard it right. Maybe I should categorise it as ‘mad ideas’ rather than ‘craft’, right? But this is what happens when your husband comes home with an ugly letter sorter :)

Anyways, before I hop and skip onto the tutorial, I have to tell you that this is my first ever cross-stitch project. Yes, really. So, I am not an expert on the subject, and I’m sure there are better ways to do it. If you are an experienced cross-stitcher, you won’t even need the tutorial! Read More

Upcycle Old T-shirts into Jewelry:
Guest Post from HEARTing Handmade

Happy Monday, sweets! Today I have a super fun tutorial for you, guest posted by Maša, a lovely Slovenian blogger from HEARTing Handmade.

If you are new to HEATing Handmade, check out Maša’s weekly roundup of giveaways (she’s done all the hard work of finding crazy cool giveaways for you so you could enter something everyday!), discover her literature love and book giveaways, and learn her personal journey and the reason why I find her the bravest woman I’ve ever met (although not in person yet!).

So… enjoy the upcycle tutorial :)

Hi there! I’m Maša from HEARTing Handmade and I’m very excited to be a guest of Emi’s today! :)

I have a passion for repurposing old things that usually end up in the dumpster at the end of their life. I found two shirts I used to really enjoy wearing, but have become too worn out to be used anymore. So I made yarn from them which I will use for making fashion accessories. Making yarn from old clothes is the simplest thing in the world! I’ll also show you how to make a really simple choker, even if you have never made jewelry in your life (no equipment needed). So the good news is that you already have everything you need for this project!

Craft Tutorial: Feather Hoop Earrings

Craft Tutorial: Feather Hoop Earrings

Hello sweets! We are officially having no summer here in UK (the number of times I wore T-shirt/no sleeves during June and July: 5), but that doesn’t stop me from feeling the summer vibe – yet. So, as my moral support, I created this feather hoop earrings that’ll make me brave enough to go out in summer dress (with goose bumps, of course) and say peace :) Read More

Craft Tutorial: Ties & Shirt Upcycle

Craft TUtorial: Ties & Shirt Upcycle

When Mr T and I went back to Japan in April, we had the opportunity to look through old ties that belonged to Mr T’s father. It’s been 15 years since he had passed away, and my mum-in-law decided to sort out his ties while we were staying there.

There were more than 60 ties in total, I think, and most of them were from high-end brands – unfortunately, though, Mr T hardly ever wears ties (he’s a freelance graphic designer, and gets away with not wearing ties even at meetings with clients). In the end, Mr T kept a few that he liked to wear, and gave me some in order to make fabric covered buttons for one of his shirts. Read More
