Nail Art Tutorial: Gradation Nails

Nail Art Tutorial: Gradation Nails, 1

Hello lovelies! This is going to be my first nail art tutorial, and I’m very excited to show you how to create gradation nails. It’s super easy to achieve, and yet it can be applied to many different designs. There might be different and better ways of making gradation, but me being not a professional nail artist means that this is a very easy way! Read More

Good-Bye to Stinky Shoes Tutorial: Part 1

Good-Bye to Stinky Shoes Tutorial: Part 1, bag

Like any other Japanese, wearing shoes inside a house is a big no-no. This applies to wherever I live, and my sweet friends, without even being asked, automatically take their shoes off at the door (thank you lovelies!). There is one big downside to ‘no-shoes’ policy though – the smell! After wearing boots or during summertime, anyone must have worried ‘what if my feet smell?’ when taking shoes off (and at someone-else’s house, the worry becomes an actual dread). So I came up with this ‘deodorant sachet’ idea, which I tried and tested for the past 3 months and works wonders! Toady, as the first part of the tutorial, I’ll show you how to make the sachets. Fruit Tea Biscuits Recipe

Fruit Tea Biscuits Recipe 1

Since I moved to the UK, my tea intake has, without an exaggeration, more than tripled. And the selection of teas here are so wide that my tea collection has been mounting up by the day. My weakness is fruits tea and herb tea; they look so tempting – full of flavour and gorgeous smells – that I cannot help buying them, but most of the time I end up drinking ordinary tea. So, in order to consume some ‘forgotten’ fruits tea, I tried mixing them in biscuit dough. And the result is…the taste of victory! Read More

Let’s spell out, shall I? Project: Day 6

Let’s spell out, shall I? Project: Day 6 'in'

It’s day 6 of Let’s spell out, shall I? project, and I must say that it’s been quite difficult to concentrate on the project. My hubby and I have been glued to the TV and computer screens for news feeds since yesterday’s Japanese earthquake; we simply couldn’t believe the devastating consequences of the earthquake and Tsunami. My prayers and heart goes out to all that were affected by this disaster.

Let’s spell out, shall I? Project: Day5

Let’s spell out, shall I? Project: Day5 'th'

It’s day 5 of the Let’s spell out, shall I? project, and I’ve started making the second word, things, with new colour and a new font. This font is much more straightforward to make than the font I used for small. You might be wondering why I started to make ‘things’ – shouldn’t it be ‘good’ next? Well, I must confess; I picked up a font that was too tricky for me, and gave up after about 4 hours of trying. I will get there, I’m sure, but not today…(sigh)

Nail Art: Office-Friendly Beige with Sparkles

Nail Art: Office-Friendly Beige with Sparkles

I work from home, and one of the things I love most about working freelance is that I can wear any nail polish I like. But there are times, when I visit someone for coverage for example, that I have to arm myself with ‘likable’ design with not-too-over-the-top colours. But saying that, I quite like soft colours such as beige and pale pink – and they can be as exciting as other vivid colours if you put a little bit of sparkly love. I hope that the lovely readers who are bored of ‘office nails’ enjoy this design! Read More

Bead Earring Tutorial:
Upcycle your earring in 10 mins!

Earring Upcycle Tutorial 1

I was sorting out my jewelry box, and realised that I have quite a few earrings that I love, but not wear much. Most of them are simple stud earrings; although they are easy to match with any outfit, thanks to its simplicity, I just got bored of them because of that after a while. Then I came up with a simple solution; let’s upcycle the butterfly catches! In this way, if I want to wear the original version again, I can just pop on ‘normal’ butterfly catches (or ear nuts). I can also mix-and-match the butterfly catches with other earrings – it’s a win-win upcycle, no? Read More
